Crappy days are here again

(english version below)

English Version

Today I have been struggeling with: Fungus infection, nausea, fatigue, numbness in my feet, breathing, tummy swollen, reduced eyesight (cannot see peoples faces if they are more than 20 yards away), andl ater on today mu tummy started with the big "D"

So, when I arrived at the hospital around noon, I was totally exhausted. The CT scan went well. I will get the results later this week. Afterwards I went up to the medicin clinic to wait for Fredrik (my hematomologist).

In the dayroom I met with one on the older ladies I had been talking to a couple of days earlier. She is in a weelchair, but I am not really sure what her medical problems are. But I enjoy talking to her. She is originally from the far north of Sweden, and reminds me of some writer.

We say "Hello, how are you?" - Not well at all, how about you? - Feeling really crappy today?
After awhile she tells me that her main problem is that she does not have her reading glasses. She has been there for over a week now, and have not been able to read anything. Now she has heard that the hospital library might have reading glasses for rent. The problem now is that apart from the library being closed all weekend, they are only open between noon and 2 pm. All nurses and other staff usually have their lunch at noon - 1 pm, so the only possible time to get to the libraryw ould be between 1 and 2 pm. She is not able to get to the library herself, so she has tried to get someone else to go for here, but not succeeded. I tell her that the staff probably have a lot todo and find it difficult to manage to do that.

But then I ask her to keep an eye on my backpack. I go down to the library, and sure they sell reading glasses for Usd 3, so I buy her a pair and get pack to the dayroom. I thought she would appreciate it, but she was so happy she started to cry. I did really feel good about this. It is not often that you get the opportunity to do so much for someone buy doing so little. I think it made both our day. Afterwards we sat for an hour and discussed Swedish litterature.

The rest of the day I spent waiting in the day-room. (The Swedish ladies soccer team played against Canada, and won, which helped me get through a couple of more hours in the day room).

Fredrik did not have that much to say, got some more medication, and lists of new bloodtests to do for the next 4 weeks, and the day-13 chemo for next week. We will call me as soon as he gets the results from the Chemo. He seems pretty confident that the chemo has given the expected results andit will mean that I will be transferred to Karolinska Hosipital.

(I have added some old photos from my "photographer period" about 35 years ago. I.e., I was about15-16yo when they were taken)

Remember, the two most important days of your life are today and tomorrow.
